An Interview with TOKYOPOP's Tim Beedle

Back in 2005, The Jim Henson Company announced that they were teaming up with TOKYOPOP to produce original graphic novels based on The Dark Crystal. The first volume of the "Legends of the Dark Crystal" series, entitled "The Garthim Wars", will be released on November 13th.

The Muppet Newsflash has an exclusive interview with Tim Beedle, who serves as the editor of the series. Tim has been leading the team on "Legends of the Dark Crystal" since the beginning. Tim shares some great behind-the-scenes insights and gives readers a "sneak peak" at what they can expect to see in these graphic novels.

Bah!!!

I've already confirmed it with the Jim Henson Company-- this project got SCRAPPED a LONG TIME AGO. It is NOT going to happen. It's original release was 2007 and guess what? The year is over. I just got off the phone with the West Coast Office. They don't even have a single frame shot yet, and don't even have the puppets built. The project was canned because of other things the JHC wants to put it's money into.

Not to mention that most upcoming releases like this usually have all kinds of promotional hoopla, like a website and all kinds of news and "nibbles" - but in this case the same two pictures keep circulating over and over again. Nothing new has come out.

When will people put this together for themselves and see the truth?

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN--

THERE WILL BE NO DARK CRYSTAL SRQUEL.

Thank you.
